On Saturday, local authorities in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) reported that armed clashes had erupted the previous evening between armed youth groups from Jonglei State and their Murle counterparts in Gumuruk County. The fighting took place in the villages of Kibali and Nyalima within Manyabol Payam after the armed youths launched attacks on the villages.
