Ugandan commandos attack LRA rebel camps in CAR
On Tuesday morning, Ugandan commandos launched targeted attacks on three Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebel bases east of the Sam Quandja region in the Central African Republic (CAR). Troops destroyed all three camps. The attacks were coordinated with South Sudan and CAR armed forces. The operations come after the International Criminal Court (ICC) closed its investigation into alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in northern Uganda. Dozens of Hamas militants killed in Gaza
Troops from the 162nd Division of the IDF have killed around 40 gunmen in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of southern Gaza's Rafah. The clashes and airstrikes were responsible for the deaths. The Nahal Brigade spotted a group of RPG-wielding operatives and directed a drone to strike their location. In Khan Younis, troops from the 98th Division killed more terror operatives and destroyed sites belonging to terror groups. Reservists from the 252nd Division killed several terror operatives in central Gaza's Netzarim Corridor through airstrikes. Additionally, reservists from the Jerusalem Brigade killed two gunmen who emerged from a tunnel and attempted to plant a bomb near the troops. This event took place on 08/20/2024.

Houthi rebels return UN Human Rights Office in Sanaa
The UN announced that the Houthi rebels in Yemen turned over the UN Human Rights Office in Sanaa, which they had seized on August 3, 2024. The office was handed back to the UN resident coordinator.
