China suspends nuclear arms control talks with the US
China has suspended nuclear arms control talks with the United States in response to Washington's arms sales to Taiwan. China stated that the repeated arms sales to Taiwan had compromised the political atmosphere for continuing the arms-control consultations. The US believes that China's decision undermines strategic stability and increases the risk of an arms race. This event took place on 07/18/2024.
