Government enforces curfew in Dhaka to quell violent clashes
On Saturday, a government-enforced curfew in Dhaka closed shops and businesses. It emptied roads, except for military and paramilitary personnel, to quell violent clashes between student protesters and security forces. According to hospital and police reports, at least 119 people, including police, have been killed in protests across the county in the past four days. Thousands have been wounded, mainly in Dhaka. Rockets launched at northern Israel

Yemen


Suspected Houthi attacks damages commercial vessel in the Red Sea
On Saturday, the captain of a commercial vessel reported two suspected Houthi-launched attacks on its ship 64 nautical miles northwest of Yemen's Port of Mokha in the Red Sea, which caused slight damage to the ship. The first was caused by an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) attack that exploded close to the vessel, causing minor damage; the second was caused by an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) that also exploded close to the boat. The captain subsequently reported further UAS sightings. The crew was reported safe. This event took place on 07/20/2024.

Israeli airstrike hits the Al Hudaydah Port area
The Israel Defense Forces have confirmed carrying out airstrikes in Yemen in response to attacks against Israel. The strikes targeted Houthi sites in the Al Hudaydah Port area. Israeli civilians have not been affected, and more information will be provided soon. This is the first known Israeli strike in Yemen. This event took place on 07/20/2024.
