AA insurgents seize Thandwe Airport
On Sunday, the Arakan Army (AA) insurgents seized Thandwe Airport in the coastal resort town of Ngapali. The rebels captured 132 regime forces and 47 police and their family members. Several regime forces were wounded in the fighting. Clashes were reported west of the village of Shwe Kyaung Pyin on the outskirts of Thandwe. Regime airstrikes bombed residential areas in the area. Protests continue in New Caledonia
Pro-independence protests continued Sunday evening and Monday in several locations of New Caledonia after protest leaders were arrested. Protesters set fire to the town hall in the Kourmac commune and destroyed areas in Paita. Protests also took place in Ducos, Dumbea, and Magenta, where buildings and vehicles of the municipal poles were set on fire. This event took place on 06/24/2024.
