Airstrike reported in the Gomal district
An airstrike targeted a vehicle in the Gomal district of Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan on June 1. The strike, allegedly carried out by Pakistani military forces, was aimed at members of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). Eight individuals were killed in the attack, reportedly militants. Deadly explosion reported in the Belgorod region
The governor of Russia's Belgorod region reported that a deputy district leader and Security Council secretary were killed and three other officials were injured when ammunition detonated in the Korochansky district. Six civilians were also injured by shelling in Shebekino. The Russian Defense Ministry said two Ukrainian drones were shot down over Belgorod and the neighboring Kursk region, and another over the Sea of Azov. South Korea
North Korea continues to launch balloons over South Korea
North Korea launched hundreds of balloons carrying trash toward South Korea in retaliation for activists flying anti-North Korean leaflets across the border. The balloons contained cigarette butts, cloth scraps, waste paper, and vinyl, but no dangerous substances.
