Soldiers ambushed in Bakassi Peninsula
Four soldiers from the Rapid d'intervention Battalions (BIR) were killed in an ambush by separatists in the Akwa Abana area of the Bakassi Peninsula. The Cameroonian troops were pursuing the Black Marine group, unaware that they had planted explosives near Nigeria's Ikang waterside. Two bombs detonated, resulting in the casualties.
