Humanitarian aid delivery pier operational again
US Central Command has successfully reestablished a temporary pier to facilitate aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip by sea. This will allow for the continued delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid. The US had suspended aid deliveries after the pier was damaged by bad weather, just two weeks after it began operating. This event took place on 06/07/2024.

Japan protests Chinese ships near the Senkaku Islands
Tokyo has lodged a protest with Beijing after four Chinese vessels, believed to be armed, approached disputed islands in the East China Sea. This is the first time that four ships carrying cannons have entered Japanese territorial waters around the Senkaku islands. The islets are also claimed by China, and the territorial dispute has strained relations between the two countries. The Chinese coast guard ships entered Japanese territorial waters and left after repeated warnings from the Japanese coast guard. Petrol bomb attacks reported in County Tyrone
Two cars were damaged by petrol bombs in separate incidents in County Tyrone. One car in the Beattie Villas area of Omagh was targeted, while another car on the Donaghanie Road in Beragh was damaged after a petrol bomb was placed beside it. The petrol bombs also caused damage to a nearby property. Police are investigating a possible link between the two incidents and have appealed for information from the public. Extremist settlers set fires in West Bank villages
Extremist settlers in the West Bank have been reported to set fire to cars, houses, and olive trees in three Palestinian villages. The incidents include arson attacks near the village of Burqa, buildings set on fire in Beitin, and footage showing settlers carrying out arson attacks in Deir Dibwan. Houthis kidnap aid workers in Yemen
Yemen's Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, have reportedly kidnapped over a dozen aid workers, including UN staff. The Yemeni Mayyun Organization for Human Rights lists ten workers from UN agencies among the 18 kidnapped. The Houthis have a history of kidnapping, detaining, and torturing civilians, including aid workers, since the conflict began in 2014. No comments have been made by the Houthis or the United Nations regarding these recent kidnappings. This event took place on 06/07/2024.
