Hostages rescued from ADF
The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) conducted a joint operation in the Eastern DRC, rescuing five women and five children from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorist group. Among those rescued was Atukwase Katushabe Jamilah, who was abducted in 2008 and forcibly married to multiple ADF commanders. Two women were injured during the clash with ADF terrorists and were airlifted for medical treatment. This event took place on 09/09/2024.

Bandits abduct nurses and patients in Kaduna State
On Monday, bandits stormed the Primary Healthcare Centre at Kuyallo, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, kidnapping two nurses and an unspecified number of patients. According to reports, the bandits arrived around 9 am, initially targeting the nearby Government Day Secondary School but finding it empty. They then proceeded to the healthcare center, where they abducted the nurses and patients. This event took place on 09/09/2024.
