Fano militia rebels capture government soldiers
According to recent reports, Fano rebel forces in the Kalim area of Ethiopia’s Amhara region captured approximately 150 government soldiers between Sunday and Monday. Hundreds of Ethiopian troops were also reportedly killed or wounded in clashes. Among those killed were two senior Ethiopian military commanders. Anchor Media on Monday reported that over 5000 government forces have allegedly been killed in the past few weeks in different parts of the Amhara region of Ethiopia, and thousands have been captured. Manipur protest continues: internet suspended and curfew imposed
Internet services were suspended for five days, until September 15, across the state of Manipur as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order. This decision was taken in the wake of ongoing violence and protests. Additionally, an indefinite curfew has been imposed in several parts of Manipur. Furthermore, security forces used tear gas to disperse students protesting in the Imphal Valley, who are demanding the restoration of peace in the conflict-ridden area. Drones attack Russian airport
In the early hours of Tuesday, September 10, the Zhukovsky airport near Moscow was attacked by drones, leading to the closure of all air traffic. Two other airports in the area also banned landings for security reasons. Drones also targeted high-rise buildings in Ramensky, resulting in a fire and killing one person and wounding four more. The drone strike damaged multiple apartments and caused evacuations. Drones were shot down in several other locations as well. The Russian Ministry of Defense intercepted and shot down a total of 144 drones in nine regions. This event took place on 09/10/2024.

Turkish counter-terrorism forces arrested 27 suspected Islamic State terrorists during operations in several Turkish districts. INDOPACOM and Chinese commanders hold a teleconference
The top US commander in the Indo-Pacific region, Adm. Samuel Paparo, spoke with Gen. Wu Yanan, the commander of China's Southern Theater, in an effort to rebuild military ties and avoid conflict. This was the first formal conversation between the two regional military commanders in years. During the call, Paparo emphasized the importance of sustained communication to reduce the risk of misperception or miscalculation. He also urged China to comply with international laws and norms and reconsider its use of coercive tactics in the South China Sea. Both commanders had a constructive discussion, and Paparo highlighted the importance of continued communication with Wu and other Chinese theater leaders. This event took place on 09/10/2024.
