A field commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Garante Tumanggong Kawilan, and his aide, Guimaludin Kamid Samad, were wounded in an ambush in Barangay Poblacion, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on Monday. The victims were traveling in a white minivan when gunmen attacked them along a highway stretch. The perpetrators escaped towards Maguindanao del Sur province, prompting a police manhunt.
