According to local residents, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), also known as the Kokang Army, has removed machinery and medical equipment from Lashio General Hospital as they prepare to withdraw from Lashio, the largest city in northern Shan State, by April 21. This withdrawal follows pressure from China for the group to hand control of the city back to Myanmar's military junta after the MNDAA captured Lashio in August of last year.
