The Justice Department has charged a Pakistani national, Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, with plotting to attack Jews in New York on the anniversary of the October 7 terror attacks in Israel. Khan allegedly planned to carry out the attack in support of ISIS and targeted New York due to its large Jewish population. He was arrested in Canada and is charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Khan discussed his plans with undercover law enforcement officers and instructed them to buy firearms for the attacks. He decided to target a Jewish center in Brooklyn and paid a human smuggler to help him cross the border into the United States. Khan was stopped near the US-Canada border on September 4.
