Protests occur inside and outside of the Taiwan parliament

On Tuesday, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmakers attempted to slow down the legislative process in Taiwan’s parliament. This move was met with a response from the ruling party and the Kuomintang (KMT), who also waved posters with slogans, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the ordinarily formal legislature. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the parliament to protest against reform bills proposed by opposition parties. Meanwhile, lawmakers from the ruling party employed a filibuster tactic to prevent the passage of the bills inside the legislature. This event took place on 05/21/2024 at the following location: Taipei, Taiwan.
