South Korea and US military forces begin Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) Exercise

On Monday, South Korea and the United States kicked off an 11-day major combined military exercise known as the Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS). The exercise aims to bolster their joint defense readiness amid advancing North Korean military threats. It will involve around 19,000 South Korean troops and 48 field training events, including amphibious landing and live-fire drills, an increase from 38 events conducted last year.
