On Wednesday, suspected members of the Jama’a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin (JNIM), also known as the Lakurawa terror group in Nigeria, attacked Tafouka, a town in the Konni area of Niger’s Tahoua region. The attack resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and a civilian, with two others critically injured. The attackers, who are believed to have infiltrated northern Sokoto and Kebbi states from Niger Republic and Mali. This event took place on 01/08/2025 at the following location: Tafouka, Niger.
