On Tuesday morning, Ugandan commandos launched targeted attacks on three Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebel bases east of the Sam Quandja region in the Central African Republic (CAR). Troops destroyed all three camps. The attacks were coordinated with South Sudan and CAR armed forces. The operations come after the International Criminal Court (ICC) closed its investigation into alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in northern Uganda.
