On Tuesday, senior US officials expressed concern that Turkey and its militia allies are amassing forces along the Syrian border. The officials stated that the buildup, which includes a large number of militia fighters, Turkish commandos, and artillery concentrated near the Kurdish-majority city of Kobani, raises alarms that Ankara may be preparing for a large-scale incursion into territory held by American-backed Syrian Kurds.
