Violent protests continued for the third day in Greece

On Friday, clashes erupted for the third consecutive day in Greece's two largest cities, Athens and Thessaloniki. In Athens, protesters hurled gasoline bombs and flares outside the parliament during a censure motion debate. The debate centered on the government's handling of a deadly rail disaster two years ago. In response, the police fired tear gas, stun grenades, and water cannons at the violent protesters moments after Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis began speaking at the end of the three-day debate.
